Job Purpose

Your Advantage Tennis Academy is seeking an experienced, passionate, and driven LTA Level 3 Accredited Tennis Coach to lead and deliver high-quality coaching programmes across junior, adult, and performance pathways.

The successful candidate will play a key role in player development, programme growth, coaching leadership, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. The role requires a coach who can independently plan and deliver structured sessions, mentor assistant coaches, and contribute positively to the academy’s long-term vision and culture.

Key Responsibilities

Coaching & Programme Delivery

• Independently plan and deliver high-quality individual and group coaching sessions.
• Lead Mini Tennis, junior development, adult coaching, and performance training programmes.
• Design progressive coaching plans aligned with LTA coaching standards and player pathways.
• Deliver engaging, safe, and inclusive sessions for players of all ages and abilities.
• Monitor player development and provide regular technical and tactical feedback.
• Organise and support matchplay, internal competitions, camps, and academy events.
• Support talent identification and progression into competitive pathways.

Leadership & Coach Development

• Support and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 coaching assistants.
• Contribute to coach education, standards, and best practice across the academy.
• Assist with programme scheduling and court allocations where required.
• Lead sessions independently and act as a positive role model for players and staff.

Player & Parent Engagement

• Build strong relationships with players, parents, and academy members.
• Provide professional communication regarding player progress and programme opportunities.
• Promote a positive, motivating, and inclusive coaching culture.
• Support player retention and membership growth through excellent service delivery.

Business & Academy Development

• Contribute to the growth and promotion of academy programmes.
• Assist with school outreach, community engagement, and tennis participation initiatives.
• Support academy marketing activity, including social media content and event promotion where appropriate.
• Uphold and promote the values and reputation of Your Advantage Tennis Academy.

Health, Safety & Safeguarding

• Maintain a safe coaching environment at all times.
• Ensure safeguarding, welfare, equality, and health & safety policies are followed.
• Conduct equipment checks and maintain professional coaching standards.
• Report incidents or safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Qualifications

• LTA Level 3 Accredited Coach qualification.
• Current LTA Accreditation status.
• Valid DBS certificate.
• Current First Aid qualification.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training.

Experience

• Proven experience independently delivering tennis coaching programmes.
• Experience coaching junior and adult players across varying standards.
• Experience organising coaching programmes, competitions, or camps.
• Experience mentoring or supporting assistant coaches.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong technical and tactical tennis coaching knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan structured and progressive coaching sessions.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of LTA coaching frameworks and player pathways.
• Ability to motivate, inspire, and develop players.

• Full UK driving licence.
• Social media, marketing, or programme development experience.
