Job Purpose

Your Advantage Tennis Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Level 2 Pickleball Coach to deliver high-quality coaching sessions for junior and adult players of all abilities.

The successful candidate will support the growth and development of the academy’s pickleball programme by creating engaging, inclusive, and progressive coaching sessions that encourage participation, skill development, and long-term enjoyment of the sport.

The role requires a coach who is energetic, professional, and passionate about developing players within a welcoming and positive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Coaching & Programme Delivery

• Deliver structured and engaging group and individual pickleball coaching sessions.
• Support beginner, improver, social, and development-level pickleball programmes.
• Plan progressive sessions suitable for varying ages and abilities.
• Demonstrate and teach fundamental technical and tactical pickleball skills.
• Adapt coaching sessions to meet the needs of individual participants.
• Assist with holiday camps, social events, tournaments, and pickleball promotion days.

Player Development

• Encourage player participation, confidence, and enjoyment.
• Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive behaviour on court.
• Support the development of pathways for recreational and competitive players.

Customer Experience & Community Engagement

• Build positive relationships with players, parents, and members.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive coaching environment.
• Promote academy programmes and encourage ongoing participation.
• Assist with community outreach and participation initiatives where required.

Health, Safety & Safeguarding

• Ensure coaching sessions are delivered safely and professionally.
• Follow safeguarding, welfare, and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Ensure equipment is set up and stored correctly.
• Report accidents, incidents, or concerns promptly.

Teamwork & Administration

• Work collaboratively with academy staff and coaching teams.
• Assist with attendance monitoring and programme administration where required.
• Attend coach meetings and training workshops.
• Maintain high professional standards representing the academy positively at all times.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Qualifications

• Recognised Level 2 Pickleball Coaching Qualification.
• Current DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
• Current First Aid certification.
• Safeguarding training completed or willingness to complete.

Experience

• Experience delivering pickleball coaching sessions.
• Experience working with adults and/or junior participants.
• Experience leading group activities or sports coaching sessions.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage players of all abilities.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of pickleball rules, techniques, and gameplay.
• Ability to deliver enjoyable and structured coaching sessions.

Desirable Criteria

• Level 3 Pickleball qualification or working towards it.
• Schools or community coaching experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
